1. He actually enjoys cleaning, and might or might not have a mild obsession with it.

2. He learned how to 'read' thanks to his co-workers when he used to be a waiter. Or atleast how to recognize the names on the menu.

3. He is still dealing with the aftermath of a mild depression, and refuses to acknowledge it.
